| Logging In |
Before you log in to the forum, be sure to read the following:
Why log in? Logging in is necessary if you want to post messages, view the membership list, view member profiles, send and receive private messages, change your profile, and access some of the other features that the forum offers.
Registration and activation Before you can log in, you must register for the forum (How?) and then activate your account (How?). Registration is free.
Enabling "cookies" for the forum Allowing the forum to set a cookie on your computer will enhance your experience using the forum. If you want the system to show you which posts are new since your last visit and enable features such as automatic logins, you will need to allow a cookie for www.Craterz.com/ZCrew_BB/.
Rest assured that the cookie does not transmit any personal information to us; it is simply used to make some things on the forum more personal for you.
Tip: Most browser security settings enable cookies for all web sites by default. Therefore, you may not need to change any of your browser settings to enjoy these forum enhancements.
Note: How you enable cookies depends on your particular browser, but it is usually a security option in a "Tools" menu. Consult your browser instructions. Our forum administrators cannot provide support for browsers. However, if you are able to log in to the forum, you might try asking for help in the Help forum (How?). One of the other users may see your question and provide some helpful advice.
AOL Users: If you use AOL, you mayneed to log in to the Internet as you normally do and then switch to a different browser before logging in to the forum. AOL and a few other Internet Service Providers change the IP address assigned to you while you are actually online. If you do not switch to a different browser, you will not be able to create and post messages, even when you have logged in successfully.

| To log in to the forum: |
| 1) |
At the top of any page, click Log in.
Note: If you see Log out [your username] instead, that means you have already been logged in automatically, and you need not proceed with the remaining steps below. See step 4 for more information.
The log in page appears, asking you to enter your username and password.
|
| 2) |
In the Username text box, enter the username that you defined when you registered for the forum.
|
| 3) |
In the Password text box, enter the password that you defined when you registered for the forum.
Tip: If you forget your username and/or your password, see What If You Forget Your Password?
|
| 4) |
If you want the program to log you in automatically each time you visit the forum, then select the Log me on automatically each visit check box.
If you select this option, you will not have to enter your username and password each time you return to the forum, provided that you use the same computer. The program places a cookie on your computer to remember whether or not you want to be logged in automatically. No information from this cookie is passed back to the site administrators.
Note: If you use this option, do not log out, manually; simply close the browser or visit a different site to disconnect from the forum. If you log out manually (How?), you will reset the option and you'll need to log in the next time you visit.
!!! Warning: We recommended that you do not select this check box if you access the forum from a shared computer, such as one in a library, Internet cafe, university cluster, and so forth. If you do, and you step away from the computer or forget to log out, your account could be abused by another person, and you could be banned from the forum, unnecessarily.
|
| 5) |
Click the Log in button at the bottom of the forum.
Tip: Whenever you do not log in and you try to use a feature on the forum that requires that you do so, the log in page appears, automatically.

| Troubleshooting login problems: |
| If you are registered, your account is activated, and you can't log in, try the following: |
| 1) |
To log in, you must first register for the forum (How?) and activate your account (How?).
Note: Members who are under 13 years of age must have their parents complete a Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) form before they can activate their accounts. For more information, see Activating Your Account.
|
| 2) |
If you use AOL, you need to log in to the Internet as you normally do and then switch to a different browser before logging in to the forum. For more information, see AOL Users.
|
| 3) |
Check to make sure that you entered your username and password correctly. Make sure your Caps Lock key is not turned on; then try logging in again.
|
| 4) |
Check to see if you have a "pop-up blocker" program installed. If it is, try turning it off to see if it makes a difference. If it does make a difference and you want to leave your pop-up blocker on, see if you can find a setting in the software that enables you to allow pop-ups from specific web sites that you trust. If this setting does exist, then designate www.Craterz.com/ZCrew_BB/ as site for which pop-ups are allowed.
|
| 5) |
If steps 1 - 4 do not resolve the problem, contact an administrator to find out why you can't log in. (How?) Perhaps your account was deleted or a problem exists within the forum that an administrator needs to address.
Accounts are deleted periodically for various reasons. For example, if you have not logged into the forum during a long period of time or if we send you a message and it "bounces" back or is otherwise revealed to be invalid, your account will be deleted.
Note: If you have been banned from the forum for some reason, you will not be able to log in. When you attempt to do so, a message appears, indicating that you are no longer permitted to participate. You can contact an administrator to find out why. How?
