 Editing Your Posts
One of the most helpful features in the forum is that you can go back to a message you posted and edit it. If you preview your messages before posting them, you can usually avoid editing them. However, if you notice something that you want to change, you can do that by following the steps below.
Notes:
Unless you are an administrator or moderator, you can only edit your own posts.
In some topics, you can only edit your messages for a limited period of time after posting them.
Depending on board settings selected by the primary administrator, you might not be able to edit your post after someone has posted a reply message that follows it.
If you cannot edit your message, due to any of the reasons stated above, you will not see the edit icon in your message block (see step 2 below).
To edit your message:
1) Navigate to the message you want to edit.
2) Inside the message block, click the edit icon (located on the bottom-right of the post).
Edit

(Note that the graphics for icons/buttons may be different or change with different forum styles - these are just two examples of what you should be looking for.)
The message creation form appears with your message inside it.
3) Edit the message.
4) To enable or disable BBCode and smilies, to attach or remove your signature, or to start or stop watching the corresponding topic, select or de-select the corresponding check boxes at the bottom of the form.
Note: If you do turn BBCode off, the messages of other forum members who use BBCode to format words and phrases are likely appear odd. You might see the actual codes in their messages, rather than the formatting that those codes display. For example, instead of seeing bold text, you might see [b] and [/b] codes around the words that they are intending to display as bold.
5) If you have included a poll in the message and no one has voted in it yet, you can edit the poll inside the same message creation form. How?
6) Click the Preview button to preview your message. If necessary, go back and make changes to your text and formatting again.
7) Click the Submit button to post your message.
8) At this point, a page appears, offering you the choice to either go to the forum index or to view your message inside the topic. Click the link that corresponds to your preference.
If other members have already posted replies that follow your message, information about the last time you edited the message, as well as the number of times you have edited it, appears underneath your edited post.
