| Deleting Your Posts |
One of the most helpful features in the forum is that you can go back to a message you posted and edit it. If you preview your messages before posting them, you can usually avoid editing them. However, if you notice something that you want to change, you can do that by following the steps below.
Notes: |
| |
Unless you are an administrator or moderator, you can only delete your own posts.
| |
If anyone posts a reply message that follows yours, you can no longer delete your message without the help of an administrator or moderator.
| |
If you are no longer able to delete your message, you will not see the delete icon in the message block (see step 2 below).
| |
If a poll is included in your message, it is automatically deleted when you delete the message.
Tip: For instructions on deleting only the poll portion of a new topic message, see Deleting Your Polls. |
| To delete your message: |
| 1) |
Navigate to the message you want to delete.
| 2) |
Inside the message block, click the delete icon (shown below).
The delete icon/button will look something like these, depending on the style that is installed for the forum - this is just an example.
A confirmation message appears.
| 3) |
Click the Yes button.
| 4) |
At this point, a page appears, offering you the choice to either go to the forum index or back to the topic from which you deleted your message. Click the link that corresponds to your preference.
